David Harbor thinks weird things won’t get a part 2
Port David do not think Strange things will be renewed after the first season, and boy, we’re glad he was wrong.
The star is gearing up to play Hopper in season five of the Netflix series, a sentence he never thought he would utter. “I remember when we were shooting the first season. We were in Atlanta, Netflix gave us a budget of about $20,” he said on BBC’s The One Showfollow AV Club. “Midway, I remember my hairy person coming up to me, like about episode four we were filming, and she said, ‘I don’t think it’s going to work.”
He continued, “By the time we’re done, we’re done, I think we’re not going to have a second season, we’re going to be the first kind of Netflix show that never gets a second season.”
While David thought it “would be a disaster,” it became a hit. The show is Netflix’s biggest English-speaking television season in history, and the streamer has already planned a spin-off series.
