After many delays, Cuphead – Delicious Last Course finally has a release date. Studio MDHR’s 1930s cartoon-inspired platformer expansion launches on June 30, 2022 and adds a new character to play and a host of new bosses that die over and over again. You can see some of the new characters in the new trailer below from Tonight’s Game Awards, including a ghostly witch and a donkey (muck? Horse?) in shining armor.
Delicious Last Course takes place on a new area of Inkwell Isle, with more bad guys to face and a new story to play through. It also adds a new playable character, Miss Chalice, whose head is also a cup. She has new moves and abilities, and when you unlock her in the DLC you can also play here in the main game.
Studio MDHR COO Maja Moldenhauer said: “We are very proud of our talented team and the meticulous care they put into each element of this expansion. “There are individual boss sequences in The Delicious Last Course that contain more animation frames than all of the bosses in the original Cuphead and we think fans and newcomers alike will really appreciate it. depth and detail on screen!”
Initially, the last Delicious course will launch in 2019, then 2020, and then delayed until this year, so it’s safe to say we’ve waited a little while. I hope it’s still hot and fresh when it arrives next summer.
