Cowboys Release WR Antonio Callaway After Arrest
FRISCO, Texas — Wide receiver Antonio Callaway was released by dalas cowboy on Monday after being arrested last weekend in Miami for driving with a suspended license.
Callaway was signed to the Cowboys’ practice team last November but did not wear his regular-season jersey. He’s competing for one of the last wide receiver slots but hasn’t practiced in the two most recently held group activities for the media.
A previous fourth round pick in 2018 by Cleveland BrownsCallaway hasn’t caught a pass in a regular game of the season since 2020.
To replace Callaway, Cowboys contracted wide receiver Tyron Johnson, one of seven players the club trained on Monday. He played for 4 teams with 23 catches for 422 yards and 3 touchdowns in his career. All but three catches and 24 yards come in 2020 for Los Angeles charger.
Cowboys also develop wide receiver N’Keal Harrya previous first pick of New England Patriotswide receiver Lynn Bowden, quarterback Jacob Easonmidfielder Bryce Perkins and reverse angle Jordan Miller and Thakarius Keyes.
