COVID-19: N.B. reports 48 new cases as new circuit breaker measures begin – New Brunswick

New Brunswick reported 48 new instances of COVID-19 and 41 new recoveries on Friday.

There at the moment are 556 energetic instances within the province.

In a launch, the province stated 27, or 56 per cent, of the brand new instances are unvaccinated. Twelve, or 25 per cent are partially vaccinated, and 9, or 19 per cent, are absolutely vaccinated.

On Thursday, the province introduced that circuit breaker measures in elements of Zone 1, the Moncton area, the northern portion of Zone 3, the Fredericton area, all of Zone 4, the Edmundston area, and all of Zone 5, the Campbellton area, will proceed for an additional seven days. “We’re seeing stability in instances, which is optimistic, and we all know that if we take away measures too rapidly we may see a spike in hospitalizations, which is why circuit breaker measures have been prolonged and expanded within the province to assist additional scale back the variety of hospitalizations attributable to COVID-19,” stated Premier Blaine Higgs in Friday’s launch.

“These measures are mandatory for us to have the ability to maintain New Brunswickers secure.”

As of Friday, 84.7 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are absolutely vaccinated towards COVID-19 and 92.5 per cent have recieved their first dose.

New instances

Of the 48 new instances, 17 have been present in Zone 1, the Moncton area. They contain:

  • eight folks 19 and beneath;
  • two folks 20-29;
  • 4 folks 30-39;
  • an individual 40-49; and
  • two folks 50-59.

All 17 instances are beneath investigation.

There are 21 new instances in Zone 2, the Saint John area, involving:

  • 11 folks 19 and beneath;
  • an individual 20-29;
  • three folks 30-39;
  • an individual 40-49;
  • three folks 50-59; and
  • two folks 60-69.

All 21 instances are beneath investigation.

The three new instances in Zone 3, the Fredericton area, contain:

  • an individual 20-29;
  • an individual 30-39; and
  • an individual 60-69.

All three instances are beneath investigation.

There may be one new case every in Zone 4, the Edmundston area, and Zone 5, the Campbellton area, involving an individual of their 20s and an individual of their 30s. They’re each beneath investigation.

And there are 5 new instances in Zone 7, Miramichi area, which contain:

  • two folks 20-29;
  • two folks 30-39; and
  • an individual 40-49.

All 5 instances are beneath investigation.
