Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 promises better drop resistance on concrete
Corning has revealed the latest updates for Gorilla Glass material series with the introduction of Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This new glass is designed to better withstand drops on rough surfaces like concrete or asphalt.
According to Corning, 84% of consumers across China, India, and the United States consider durability a key consideration when buying a smartphone.
David Velasquez, vice president and general manager of Gorilla Glass, said: “Smartphones are at the heart of our digital lives, and demands for exceptional scratch and drop resistance only increase as they grow. We’re increasingly relying on clear, undamaged screens.”

The company’s testing of the new Victus 2 glass shows it can survive a 1-meter drop to “resurfacing concrete”.
