Conor Benn Retweets Jake Paul
Everyone has been eagerly awaiting the confirmation of the Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr battle taking place on October 8 at the O2 Arena. However, it looks like Benn has just confirmed the issue is keeping the message.
The war will rekindle the rivalry between families led by their fighting fathers from 30 years ago. Due to the size of the event, it is almost certainly the first entry into the Pay-per-view market for the host broadcaster DAZN.
It was widely reported today that the rehydration clause is delaying the big reveal.
Benn and Eubank Jr are said to have agreed to a 156lb catch, a figure two pounds north of the Super Welterweight limit.
This will give Benn an extra 9 pounds over his natural fighting weight, while Eubank Jr will have to drop four times from his normal Medium 160lbs max.
Like this all-British bout, the Jake Paul vs Hasim Rahman Jr match has also made headlines due to the disparity in weight. Rahman Jr is a born weight class who ended up weighing in at 224lbs. For the match on August 6, Rahman had to initially put on a 200lb limit before weighing a second time on the morning of the match, where he had to stay under 214lb.
Paul took to twitter to point out the similarities in the situation of both wars:
“Conor Benn dirty b/c he doesn’t want Chris Eubank to have a night of fighting big size advantage? No… just want a fair/safe fight. “
“Rahman can weigh @ any weight match night. 200 pounds, 214 at noon – day, any night. Stop making excuses, Jr. #DoubleStandards. “

Conor Benn retweeted Paul’s post all but rumor confirmed that the announcement delay was due to the rehydration provision.
