Charlie Appleby has a full stop with an amazing attack speed and it is equally impressive at Wolverhampton Racecourse. He’s running at 33% there this season with eight winners from 24 athletes sent to the track. Last season, he had a 38 percent return at the venue, and over the past five years he’s hit 34 percent, a pretty staggering number.
On a normal day, those stats would be important but it must be even more important when Appleby only sent one horse to the track on Monday night. 6.00 Wolverhampton
A’Shaari looks potentially smart having a winning debut in impressive style at Newmarket over 7f last year. She has a top pedigree with her sister Wuheida beating Marcel Boussac in the second start. She threw her chances up to 1m2f at the listed company twice later when she ran too fast but she ran a big race with her handicap debut at Ascot in June placing fifth in the tournament. Sandringham (winner goes on to win Group 3 and fourth has won a race listed since) and this is a 2lb drop in winable quest.
The Goddess Of Fire can prove to be dangerous, being one of only two race and distance winners in the field. The other is Pomelo but the pick has the beat of that pick as judged by the Sandringham run. It looks like a hot race on paper but now is the time for A’Ashaari to build on the huge promise she made at her debut.
