Clorox recalls nearly 37 million bottles of Pine-Sol cleaning products that may contain harmful bacteria


Clorox has recalled millions Pine-Sol cleaning products after it was revealed that the product may contain harmful bacteria that could be harmful to people with compromised immune systems or those using external medical devices.

Based on CNN, Clorox announced that affected products may contain a bacterium known as Pseudomonas aeruginosa. There are eight different versions of the brand’s Pine-sol products that have been recalled, including, Pine-Sol scented multi-surface cleaners with clean lavender, sparkling waves, and fresh lemon scents. . As well as CloroxPro Pine-Sol multi-purpose cleaner in clean lavender, sparkling waves, fresh lemon and energetic orange. And also Clorox Professional Pine-Sol fresh lemon cleaner.

NBC News reported that a committee stated,

“Out of an abundance of caution, Clorox is recalling all of the products described above manufactured at the Forest Park, Georgia facility through September 2022.”

The CDC shares that people who may be at risk include those on a ventilator or needing a urinary catheter. As well as those with surgical wounds or burns.

The products in question were manufactured from January 2021, CNN reported.

The recalled bottles have a date code that begins with the prefix “A4” followed by a five-digit number less than 22249. Possibly affected products are sold in bottles of 28 to 175 fluid ounces. The cleaning products were sold on Amazon as well as at national retailers like Target, Walmart, Kroger, Dollar Tree and many more.

Owners of the recalled bottle(s) are encouraged to dispose of the product and contact Pine-Sol for a refund.
