Davis Stakes (G3) from Classic Road it’s encouraging to see from a form comparison standpoint as this pony beat him 4 3/4 length in last year’s Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1) at Keeneland. Unlike coach Kenny McPeek’s other top 3-year-olds, Rattle N Roll is targeted for a March return. His training will soon ramp up after two relatively moderate half-mile runs that will begin this month at Gulfstream Park.

Emboldened by his race in the Remsen Stakes (G2) as he went three laps both turns, being stubborn in the lane and galloping ahead Mo Donegal after being hit by that opponent and nearly broke the rope.

After rolling around at Holy Bull Stakes (G3) on February 5, plans call for him to rest until April 2 Curlin Florida Derby (G1) at Gulfstream. In recent years, the winners of Holy Bull Can be heard (2018) and Law Tiz (2020) similarly skipped the Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) before attending the Florida Derby and then hit the table in the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) (Tiz the Law finished second in the postponed COVID-19 match Derby in September). The distance between races will make White Abarrio fresh not only for the Florida Derby but also for the Triple Crown.

As promising when he finished the stretch in Holy Bull, finishing third and falling only second, he was a bit slow when accelerating on the second turn, leaving him with too much work to do late. Admittedly Holy Bull’s conditions were inconsistent after slow fractions and with the 1/16-mile race at Gulfstream finishing in the sixteenth column. The Wood memorial presented by Resorts World Casino (G2) on April 9 could be the next day, coach Todd Pletcher told Thoroughbred Daily News.

He took pressure in Sam F. Davis from an intense sprinter, and still had plenty left, hitting a deep court, although not a group of the same quality as seen at Holy Bull or is set to line up in the Easter Stars.

As long as he breaks well, he will likely try to work out terms in the Resurrection Star. He’s the fastest in speed metrics and is one of the other leaders in the lineup, Medina’s Pioneers , is attracted outside of him, which can cause that opponent to play more of a chasing role. The Resurrection Star isn’t null for speed, but Epicenter doesn’t expect to have to throw down fractions as fast as what he placed in second in Lecomte Stakes (G3).

With White Abarrio and Mo Donegal likely to be out of use early next month, he should head to the March 5 Youth Fountain as one of the favorites. Five years ago, coach Antonio Sano and track athlete Javier Castellano won the FOY with Gunnevera , who also finished second in Holy Bull. Simplification’s second-place finish at Holy Bull was a great endeavor, coming despite a slow start and wide second-leg rally. Note that he didn’t switch the lead down the long haul, which almost got him nailed late for runner-up.

The five weeks between his last race and the Fountain of Youth make that race a prime target.

The pony has worked with and without blinking for the past few months. The form from Los Alamitos Futurity was flattered by Bob Baffert-trained Messier, taking the 15-degree long Robert B. Lewis Stakes (G3).

Tyler Gaffalione, who teamed up with Casse on Preakness Stakes (G1) winner War of Wills in 2019, get the Easter Star mount item.
