Chisora calls Wilder after Edging Out Pulev in the rematch
Dereck Chisora hit the well again, but this time he raised his hand in victory after claiming a decisive victory over Kubrat Pulev in London on Saturday night.
Thousands of people came to the O2 Arena to watch their favorite heavyweight veteran take down the man who beat him in 2016. Chisora’s 33rd victory gave him his first win since stopping David Price in the same venue three years ago.
In that moment, Oleksandr Usyk and Joseph Parker proved too brilliant as the anti-hero of British boxing but on this occasion he had to face someone on his own level who could be beaten. .
The first phase is a hassle with skirmishes being done close to any part of the targeted anatomy. Referee Marcus McDonnell had repeatedly warned his players and while it wasn’t easy, Chisora made as much of a foul inside as Pulev’s left side blushed.
Each one’s best moments come from Chisora’s forehand serves combined with Pulev’s quick and messy runs and rear-footed synergies or fouls when his opponent looks looks tired. These latter shots don’t do the damage they might have done years ago but they are making their mark.
Pulev boxed the better of the two and provided better fundamentals, but the crowd was often driven by Chisora’s industry. The 38-year-old also chose to play marsupials in the corner, just as he did in the Joseph Parker rematch, allowing Pulev to let him go. However, in a split second, Chisora would appear and force the Bulgarian to back off.
Body attack from Chisora continues throughout and is always a plan that b must rely on if his work upstairs doesn’t go according to plan. The noise from the fans increased tenfold, especially in the 9th round when Chisora kicked Pulev back with his right hand.
Pulev returns with a one-two and a top shot, a shot he relies on as often as Chisora did with his forehand. The defense was broken when the two charged at each other with explosive shots bouncing down two heavy beards. It was three minutes that brought Chisora back to life and gave him a third or maybe even fourth wind.
Pulev is not one to be defeated by any tension and matches Chisora in every department. Who wanted it more and most importantly what the trio of judges preferred.
In the final three minutes, Chisora decided to make it as rough and tough as possible for her Bulgarian guest. A peach digs into the body before a right hook also pings the midsection. Another label was quick to join the fun but so too was the opposition’s reliable top laner. Two boxers could continue until one fell but the final bell rang with thunderous applause from the attendees.
When a score of 116-112 per person was read out, there was a certain feeling that Dereck ‘War’ Chisora was going to get the nod (116-114) and he did. Again into the trenches later for a warrior who will never refuse a battle (well paid).

Talk later with DAZN Chisora says:
“It’s hard. Today I’m happy but at the same time sad.”
“I don’t have much left, but what I have left, I will give it my all. So my next few battles, I’m on my way out of here. I don’t want an easy fight. I want to have tough games.”
“I told Eddie [Hearn] another day if he can get me ‘Bronze Bomber’ (Deontay Wilder) I will be very happy. I want to fight everyone in my time. Win or lose, I just want to fight.”
🗣’I’m on my way out.. Win or lose, I just want to fight the best. ‘
