Changing lanes without turning signals causes an accident – fine up to RM 10,000, 12 months in prison, warning the police
It is a common sight on the roads of Malaysia, where drivers don’t use their turn signals to indicate they want to change lanes. The worst is still the case of sudden lane changes, this is a dangerous behavior that can cause serious injury to other road users when an accident occurs.
The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) recently took to Facebook to remind motorists to pay attention to their actions on the road and to always use turn signals and not to change lanes abruptly. If an accident results in serious injury to other road users, you will find yourself like hot soup.
