Are you looking for the most crowded place Celebrity ship at sea? If so, you’ll want to board one of Celebrity Cruises’ largest ships.
As you might expect, the biggest Celebrity cruise ships are Celebrity ships with mostly restaurants, bars, galleries, and decked pool areas. They also have the largest casino and spa of any of the ships in the Celebrity cruise line, and the widest range of cabins and suites – as well as the widest variety of variations in cabin and suite types.
With a capacity of 3,000 or more passengers, Celebrity’s largest ships are like floating versions of the mega-resorts you’d find on land in places like Orlando or Las Vegas, though they aren’t. as big as the biggest resorts on land or at sea (later, you might want to try a Royal Caribbean or MSC Cruises ship). If you’re into the “bigger the better” camp when it comes to resort experiences, the biggest Celebrity Cruises ships are the Celebrity ships for you.

However, Celebrities don’t just operate large ships. The Miami-based cruise brand also markets a number of cruise ships that are relatively small, carrying only 2,000 or so people, and with a much more intimate feel. In some cases, these ships are 35% smaller than the largest celebrity cruise lines. Notably, they are ships with less deck activity and interior locations than the largest celebrity cruise ships.
These smaller popular cruise lines are best for travelers who prefer a more intimate, less crowded resort experience.

The celebrity also operates three even smaller ships – much less; they can only carry 16 to 100 people — in the Galapagos all year round. These three ships make up a fundamentally different business for Celebrities than the large, mainstream cruises that are at the core of the company.

What is the largest Celebrity Cruises ship?
The largest famous cruise ship is Celebrity Beyond, which weighs 141,420 tons. It is also the newest famous cruise ship. It launched less than two years ago, in April 2022.
What is the smallest Celebrity Cruises ship?
The smallest Celebrity cruise ship is the Micro Celebrity Xploration. Based in the Galapagos, it weighs 320 tons, a tiny fraction of the size of Celebrity Beyond, and it holds only 16 passengers.
In other words, Celebrity Xploration holds fewer passengers than a lifeboat on Celebrity Beyond.
Are the larger Celebrity Cruises coming?
Not now. Celebrity Cruises currently has two new cruise ships on order. However, each vessel is expected to be about the same size as the recently announced Celebrity Beyond – around 141,000 tons.
Of course, that size estimate could change as construction of the ships nears completion. Celebrities can add elements to ships to increase their size.
The first of two ships ordered, Celebrity Ascent, will set sail in December 2023. This is followed by an unnamed ship in 2025.
The two Celebrity Cruises to be ordered will be the fourth and fifth ships in the Celebrity’s Edge-class series, which begins shipping in 2018. The first three ships in the series are Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond.

What is the difference between the larger and smaller Celebrity Cruises ships?
The biggest famous cruise ships have room for many places and attractions on board than famous smaller ships. That makes them more appealing to travelers who prefer a large resort experience with more options than staying at a smaller resort.
For example, on Celebrity’s largest ship, Celebrity Beyond, you’ll find an expansive “resort within a resort” area for suite passengers called The Retreat that is not available on smaller ships in the same class. the Edge line or on other small ships in the Celebrity fleet. It offers a new two-story sundeck with hot tub, loungers and private cabanas exclusively for passengers staying in the suites.
Celebrity Beyond also has 179 more cabins than its smaller sister ships, Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Edge, each with 1,467 cabins. As a result, it holds 3,260 passengers with double capacity. This is up from 2,910 passengers with double capacity for Celebrity Apex and 2,908 passengers with double capacity for Celebrity Edge.

In contrast, Celebrity’s smaller Millennium-class ships carry only about 2,100 passengers with double capacity. As a result, they have a more intimate feel, at least in the pantheon of relatively large mass-market ships.
That makes second ships a good option for those who want to try Celebrities but don’t want to travel with large crowds.
