We love a good vintage themed watch here at Nintendo Life and it looks like Casio G-Shock Launched with one of the best designs we’ve ever seen.
Shipping to customers from November 11, 2022the G-Shock X Super Mario Brothers DW-5600SMB-4 based on platformer seminal Super Mario Bros. for the NES, originally released in 1985. Its display had typical Casio features, including a digital clock, date function, alarm, and other lovely bits and bobs, but The bezel itself displays a lovely pixel-art green finish alongside the ‘Super Mario Bros. Casio’ is at the top. As is the case with most Casio watches, this version will be backlit, but instead of the usual plain boring light, you’ll be presented with an adorable little image of Mario alongside the ‘1Up’ logo.
It’s housed in a red plastic case that’s typical of Mario’s clothing colors in the original game, and the wristband contains multiple Mario images. The watch will come in a tin case along with an external display case designed to pay homage to the game. You can also expect all the usual G-Shock features with this one, including water resistance, 2-year battery life, and – obviously – shock resistance.
