Capital Delhi beat Sunrisers Hyderabad 21 points in IPL 2022

David Warner can erase those bad memories now.

During the second half of the last IPL, he posted on social media a photo from his hotel room while his franchise from 2014, Sunrisers Hyderabad, was playing Rajasthan Royals in Dubai. It’s hard to understand why someone who has led the team to title victory isn’t even in the dugout.

On Thursday night at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, he was back on the field for a match against SRH. This time, however, he is on the rival team, Delhi Capitals.

His 92 determinations not to go out (58b, 12×4, 3×6) helped the Capitals win 21 runs. But for a great play from Nicholas Pooran (62, 34b, 2×4, 6×6), the profit would be much greater.

As long as Pooran was in the game, SRH was in the game, chasing 208. But once he was caught in the long run from the full throw from Shardul Thakur in the 18th round, that was the curtain.

SRH dropped to 37 for three in season seven, but first Aiden Markram (42, 25b) and then Pooran brought their side back into the competition.

DC currently has 10 points, equal to SRH and Punjab Kings. The race for places in the knockout round is getting exciting.

Before that, Warner was unlucky to miss what should have been a remarkable hundred. But when his fourth teammate Rovman Powell would reveal late in the inning, he answered in the negative when the West Indian asked him if he needed a single at the start of the final round. or not.

Warner still hit a few major milestones: he surpassed Chris Gayle’s record for the most fifty in T20 cricket. This is his 89th. He also hit the 400th Friday in this format.

He only finished first and second despite being in the six-round competition. Powell smashed six of those balls with his brutal knockdown with 67 not coming out of just 35 (3×4) balls. The unfinished fourth rack is 122 with only 66 balls left.

If Powell’s batting is an exhibition of the powerful shots of the Caribbean, Warner fixed the rounds sensibly even as he came up with some of the big shots himself. The duo – and captain Rishabh Pant in a cameo (26, 16b) – defeated SRH bowling.

The innings also saw Umran Malik beat his own record for fastest ball of the season, with a speed of 157 km/h. He throws the ball very quickly right past, but the balls disappear faster.
