Canon Launches New Level EOS R100

Canon revealed EOS R100, a 24-megapixel APS-C mirrorless camera aimed squarely at beginners—basically an EOS M or an RF-mount Rebel DSLR. With the R100, simplicity is at the heart of the game: just a handful of buttons, a fixed rear LCD with no touch sensitivity, an OLED EVF with only 2.36 million dots, a UHS SD card slot -I unique and good feature of Canon. Battery LP-E17.

like EOS R50, the shutter is not fully mechanical: The first shutter is electronic, resulting in a very modest 3.5 fps maximum continuous shooting speed with Servo AF. On the video side, we offer cropless 1080/60p movie recording, but 4K footage is cropped (by an unspecified amount) and suffers because only Contrast AF is available.

Shipping in July, the EOS R100 will have a body-only MSRP of $480. It can also be purchased as a set with the RF-S 18–45mm f/4.5–6.3 IS STM ($600) or the RF-S 55–210mm f/5–7.1 IS STM ($830).
