Canelo Alvarez facing Jermell Charlo (not Jermall) on September 30

Canelo Alvarez will obviously face Charlo in September. Only it’s not the Charlo it’s reported.

The undisputed 168-pound champion has indicated on social media that he will be up against undisputed 154-pound champion Jermell Charlo, not his twin brother and holder. Jermall Charlo 160-pound belt. And sources confirmed the news.

Alvarez’s first fight with the Top Boxing Champion will be September 30 in Las Vegas, he said on Twitter. He did not mention a location.

“Undisputed versus Undisputed,” is how he billed the match.

Alvarez (59-2-2, 39 KOs) recently signed what is believed to be a three-fight deal with PBC, the company that manages some of the top boxers in and around the Mexican star’s division.

He is said to have spoken to Jermall Charlo, who has dealt with mental health issues, hasn’t fought in over two years and should have moved up to a division. However, that fight could not be fought for undisclosed reasons.

Alvarez then turned his attention to Jermell Charlo, who had also publicly expressed his desire to challenge Alvarez.

Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) is one of the most respected boxers in the world — more respected than his brother — but he’ll have to move up two divisions to face a The future Hall of Famer, at the age of 32, is one year younger than Charlos.

Many believe Alvarez is falling after mediocre performances in his loss to 175-pound weight owner Dmitry Bivol and the decisions about Gennadiy Golovkin And John Ryder at 168, which might make Charlo’s challenge less difficult.

Jermell Charlo is about to have one of his most impressive performances yet, by knocking him out in the 10th round in a rematch against Brian Castano last May. That means he will be out of the ring for 16 months against Alvarez.

Fans are hoping that Alvarez’s first bout against PBC will result in a showdown with 168-pound opponent David Benavidez.

Alvarez has made it clear that he wants to have a second meeting with Bivol, who easily point him out in May of last year. However, he went in a different direction when they could not come to an agreement.

So here we are: The 168-pound king versus the 154-pound king. Interesting to say the least.
