British number one Cameron Norrie reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon after beating 30th seed Tommy Paul in consecutive sets.
Norrie beat the American 6-4 7-5 6-4 in what he later called “quite insane”.
His win made him only the fifth British man overall to reach the final eight stage at the Championships and the first since Andy Murray won the title twice in 2017.
“Being in this area for the first time, in front of my family and friends here since college, is special,” Norrie told the court to cheers from the crowd.
“In a big game, to play the way I did, it’s really good. To do everything. I really like it. It’s pretty crazy, I have a lot of emotions.”
The 9th seed overcame another American, Steve Johnson, in the third round and he built on that with another strong showing Sunday afternoon on Court One.
His victory came a few hours after his colleague Brit Heather Watson dropped from Wimbledon after losing to Jule Niemeier in her 4th round match.
The British number 4 lost to the 22-year-old German in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-4.
She previously beat Niemeier in their only previous meeting, earlier this season at Monterrey, in a final draw.

It was Watson’s best performance of any Grand Slam, but a quarter-final spot proved to be for the 30-year-old.
Watson has dropped to 121st in the world rankings and this year marks her 12th Wimbledon.
She has played every day of the tournament so far.
