Camera Settings Every Landscape Photographer Needs to Know
One of the great things about landscape photography is that your camera settings play two roles: providing technically correct exposure and, importantly, allowing you to render the frame in a way that your brain wants. Your creations see fit. However, there are a few camera settings you need to make sure, and if you’re new to the genre, this helpful video tutorial will make sure you know what they are and how to use them properly.

If you’re new to this, by far the most important thing you need to immediately set is the image type, namely changing it to raw instead of JPEG. Many cameras are set to JPEG by default, but raw files allow you to do more post-processing to make adjustments without sacrificing image quality significantly. This is especially important in landscape photography, as the extremely high dynamic range of many scenes will often force you to make significant demands on your files during editing.
