Street takeovers are still raging in the Los Angeles area, despite officials request public support in preventing them and enacting laws intended to scare people don’t get involved in them. The takeovers seem to be getting worse, having less to do with racing and more to do with destroying property. As KTLA An LA Metro bus was reportedly set off with fireworks and graffiti in the latest street takeover.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in downtown Los Angeles, where about 50 vehicles had taken over an intersection, authorities said. The Los Angeles Police Department received multiple calls about the occupation but did not arrive in time, and no arrests were reported. A Metro bus that was at the intersection and had passengers on board was targeted during the occupation, KTLA reported.
The bus operator told OnScene.TV that some people who gathered to occupy the street fired fireworks at the bus, leaving it covered in graffiti.
Video shows graffiti also sprayed on a nearby building.
The idiots didn’t stop at the bus or the building. A crowd then tried to break into a local Starbucks before LAPD and air support told them to disperse, KTLA and OnScene.TV reported.
This is the second takeover in the area in less than a week. Just over a mile from where the bus was vandalized, another takeover occurred on June 29th involving two cars being set on fire at an intersection. Fortunately there were no injuries, but unfortunately there were no arrests.
