The 151st Open Championship continues on Friday with three days of pristine golf remaining at Royal Liverpool. The somewhat unlikely trio of leaders came out on top after 18 holes as Hoylake, England, and an even more unlikely leader topped the totem column after his 36 holes as Brian Harman topped at 10th under 10.

With Hoylake hosting for the first time since 2014 and a course packed with most of the game’s best golfers after the Claret Jug, the tournament is far from over. In fact, you can according to Open live leaderboard coverage during Round 2 on Friday.

Having just won the Scottish Open, the last man to win the Open at Royal Liverpool is looking to enter consecutive tournaments with Rory McIlroy joining as the clear favorite. However, McIlroy took the lead after opening a relatively normal 36 holes as he searched for his first major tournament after a nine-year drought. While Scottie Scheffler has enjoyed a lot of recent success as the world’s #1 golfer, he has yet to turn his absurd stats into the second-biggest win of his career. He finished T10 at the Masters, T2 at the PGA Championship and 3rd at the US Open but still needed a major title to add more hardware to what has been a lucrative campaign.

Enter Tommy Fleetwood. The Englishman, who grew up about 30 minutes away from Hoylake, sits as one of three co-leaders after 18 holes alongside Emiliano Grillo and South African amateur Christo Lamprecht, the latter of which shocked the golf world as the club’s earliest lead. Fleetwood is not only looking for the first major tournament of his career but also his first win in a PGA Tour event. He has three top five finishes in his last six majors and enters this Open with a pair of top four finishes in the last three such events.
