The life of a British mother is said to be in danger after being struck by lightning on a beach in Croatia.
Police in Split said they were called at 3:15 p.m. Saturday after a person was apparently hit by a bullet.
“An investigation will be conducted at the scene and all circumstances of this accident are being determined,” the officers added.
“Her life is in danger.”
The woman, believed to be 48 years old, a British national, was sunbathing with her daughter when a thunderstorm swept in from the sea, MailOnline reported.
The victim, who has yet to be identified, is believed to have lost consciousness as she and her daughter tried to get to a nearby hotel.
She is now said to be in critical condition in intensive care.
