Breeders ‘Cup’s Late Chicks Nominations End February 28
Breeders’ Cup has issued a reminder today that Monday, February 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET is the last chance to nominate 2021 ponies to the Breeders’ Cup program for a nomination fee. one-time late is $1,500 USD.
A $1,500 nomination entitles each foal for life to qualify for the Breeder’s Cup World Championship and the Breeder’s Cup Racing Program. All ponies bred by a fully nominated North American Breeder’s Cup stallion are eligible for a Breeder’s Cup nomination in the year of their birth and until February 28 in their year of desire.
Breeders’ Cup Limited has been Thoroughbred’s most important international program for over 38 years. During this time, Breeders’ Cup has distributed purses and prizes of nearly $900 million to owners, pony nominees, and stallion nominees through its programs, including the Championship. The annual $31 million Breeders’ Cup World Championship presents the best Thoroughbreds, owners, trainers and stallions to a global audience.
Breeders’ Cup Horse nominees will earn $10,000 USD for each win in the Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win and You’re In” Series worldwide and each horse that starts in the World Championship race. Breeders’ world will win the nominee’s award. Individuals who nominate a pony will receive these nominees’ awards, although the horse may change hands throughout its racing career.
