Thousands of supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro stormed the country’s National Assembly, Supreme Court and presidential palace.
Police responded with tear gas in an attempt to push back the protesters.
The protesters denied the election results in October, in which the far-right former president lost to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the left-wing veteran.
