Demmery and Corser team up in 2023

Any pre-season test has some surprises and it was a surprise this morning at Sydney Motorsport Park to see two-time Superbike World Champion Troy Corser on the corner of Brandon Demmery , 25 years old.

In recent years, Demmery has worked behind the scenes to support young drivers in their racing endeavors and last year assisted Jacob Hatch in the UK Kids Superstock classes.

Demmery herself has won several national titles in early childhood classes over the years, and from the outside, it may seem like the pair might be an odd combination, however, in In this early stage, it can be a perfect match, both live close to each other. each other in the Wollongong area, and both have a passion for racing and nurturing young talent.

Since I finished the competition, I have been involved in races in some way and with the training schools I run in Europe. Coming back here is an extension of that, and now that I’ve moved here permanently, my goal is to get involved with younger riders, starting at the base and progressing through the riders. is different.

“Although I have returned to Australia full time, I will still be going back and forth to do some races in Europe, but I am aiming to be in every lap of the championship so it’s good. got to work with Brando, who has extensive cycling experience and experience not only riding but also working and running a team.”

BD: “It all comes together pretty quickly, really. Troy was in the shop where I work, MotoCity in Wollongong, and we started chatting about different things about racing. A few weeks passed, I called him and we made it up.

MB: Are there any plans to add another rider?

TC: “Right now, we’re just focused on getting ourselves on the grid, but there’s a possibility. There are plenty of riders here that we can work with regarding travel arrangements and bunker sharing as well as other ways to make things easier for competitors. We’re just doing testing and seeing where we run in this early phase. We have a few things to prepare that will take some time to perfect, but the focus is on getting Brando on the right track in the championship..”

MB: Is running number 11 just a coincidence or is there more to it?

BD: “Well, Troy was my childhood hero when I first started playing Metrakits when I was about nine years old. That series was back then through Troy, because he joined and ran that series, I always tracked his phone number since then..”

MD: So what is your main role Troy?

TC: “I will be the rider coach, I assume the team advisor to help run things but mostly just to help Brando prepare before and after the race meetings. Everything I know will help him.”

MB: Do you plan to just stay in smaller classes or have larger plans going on?

TC: “300 at the moment, because it’s a pretty easy bike to operate. Brando has extensive experience riding and maintaining them. He’s been using them for a while, but the Supersport 600 is the next step I’d say, and who knows maybe a Superbike in the future. Now, just step by step, Brando already has the bike, the materials and everything else so it makes sense to start with what we have, hopefully get some support along the way and then I think we can move on to the 600s.”
