It’s been a long time Bob’s Watch launched a new auction, but the wait is over!
Bob’s Watches is currently holding an auction that includes a collection of four unique “tropical dial” Rolex sports watches from the 60s and 70s.
The auction started yesterday and runs through September 14. The winning bid will be announced on the website after September 14.
The watches that hit the e-auction block will be:
Rolex ref. 1016 Explorer from 1966
The upcoming batch features a Rolex ref. 1016 Explorer from 1966. Originally black, the glossy dial has aged to a deep brown, making the watches worth an estimated $30,000 to $50,000.

Rolex ref. 1675 GMT-Master from 1969
fans will find a Rolex ref. 1675 GMT-Master from 1969. The “Mark I, Long E” dial has changed from black to brown, combined with a fuchsia bezel. It has an estimated value of $25,000 to $45,000.

The Rolex ref.1665 “Double Red” Sea-Dweller, circa 1972, boasts a matte black “Mark II” dial that turns brown around the edges and date window. With an estimated value of $50,000 to $80,000, it is the most sought-after watch.

There is also a Rolex ref. 1680 “Red” Submariner, from 1970, comes with original box and perforated paper. The “Mark II” dial of its original black watch has gone completely brown, while the matte bezel has gone from black to blue-gray. It will earn between $20,000 and $40,000.
