hydrogen fuel for vehicles, especially hydrogen as a easy to catch fire rather than part of a fuel cell system as in a Hyundai NEXO or Toyota Mirai, is kind of controversial. It’s not a super efficient way to generate power and while Toyota is tinkering with technology in the race cars today, BMW tried to make it happen from the start with the Hydrogen 7.
What is Hydrogen 7, and why might you not have heard of it, and more importantly, how stupid was the idea and implementation of it in 2005? Well, luckily we have Interpretation Techniques by Jason Fenske to help us with the last two parts.
As you’ll see, BMW has made a lot of really weird choices that require some major sacrifices that no one is willing to live with in the real world, especially not with a yacht on land. Things like aThe liquid hydrogen tank depletes itself after 10-12 days of sitting, which also means this big boy can’t be parked in the house.
The lack of power compared to a conventional V12 petrol engine is also quite serious, but what is more serious is Fake BMW claims about hydrogen equipment performance and range. It’s a clear proof of concept, but it’s one that the marketing department isn’t allowed to do.
