BMW car submitted an image to the Ministry of Information and Industry of China (MIIT) for certification of a new electric sedan called i3 eDrive35L, images are making their way into MIIT’s public database and Auto Express. It has been known for a long time that BMW has an electric sedan planned for the Chinese market, which is expected to hit the market next year or in 2023; camo-clad version detected in China and Europe. It is not clear that the sedan will use the i3 name. The i3 is expected to enter production at BMW’s joint venture with Chinese automaker Brilliance next year, along with iX3 . electric SUV. Since the model on which this sedan is based is only sold in China, we think it’s a long way to export to other markets. An electric 3 Series on BMW’s new Neue Klasse platform replacing the front-wheel drive CLAR and FAAR architecture is said to be headed to global markets in 2025.
