Billy Bolt tops day one of Minus 400 Hard Enduro
2022 Minus 400 Hard Enduro – Report Day 1
The 2022 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship kicked off in Israel with Day One of the 400 Eliminations, in which Billy Bolt of Husqvarna Factory Racing came out on top in the Leonardo SuperEnduro final, after Sherco Factory Racing’s Wade Young dominated the morning qualifiers.
A day of two innings, a morning qualifier saw competitors vying for a spot in the afternoon superenduro finale. With just 30 spots to contend with in the Leonardo Urban SuperEnduro, all eyes were on the chronograph as the scorching hot Israeli sun sent the racers past their stride.
The morning race that sees competitors face a 14-kilometer run will be done twice, with the fastest time being counted. In his first outing, Bolt was ahead of Dominik Olszowy (GASGAS) and Michael Walkner (GASGAS).
With the process improving and speed increasing, the last two laps proved to be the fastest. Finding over two and a half minutes into his opening game, it was Wade Young who led the table in time ahead of Sherco teammate Mario Roman. Feeling he had done enough to secure a place in the qualifying round, Bolt opted out of the second round, but his initial time was still enough to secure third place.

Leonardo SuperEnduro Final
As the evening sun began to calm down, attention turned to the final act of the day – the Leonardo Urban SuperEnduro. Determined to win, Bolt wasted no time heading the field. Instantly show your opponents a clean heel. With a world-class horseback riding, he completed 13 laps to win convincingly.
Behind him, the rest of the podium is being closely fought. Roman and Alfredo Gomez – in their AG 89 Team debut – boosted that runner-up. Holding firm, Roman held on to Gomez for second place.
An impressive start to the home race, Israel’s Suff Sella put on a strong display. Fighting hard, the 18-year-old took KTM home in fourth place, while Young closely competed in fifth.
Minus 400 continues with Wednesday’s Yochananof Desert Prologue.
