On Monday, President Biden announced his application for the student loan relief program Officially active!.

The management has published the beta version of the app last week. Since Friday’s launch, more than 8 million borrowers have applied for debt relief, with no hiccups or incidents reported according to the White House.

“It’s easy. It’s quick,” Biden said during the press conference announcing the launch, noting that the apps take less than 5 minutes and can be done on a desktop or phone.

“This is a game changer for millions of Americans to move forward.”

Biden’s plan is to cancel debt up to $10,000 for those earning less than $125,000 per year and up to $20,000 for those who have received Pell Grants.

The application asks for the borrower’s name, date of birth, and social security number, among other things. The form is available in both English and Spanish on the desktop and mobile websites. It will be open until December 31, 2023.
