The Biden administration has released a congressional mandate that highlights the positives economic benefits of Keystone XL . Pipeline would have if President Biden did not revoke its federal license.

The report that Completed Department of Energy (DOE) at the end of December without any public announcement, said the Keystone XL project would create between 16,149 and 59,000 jobs and would have a positive economic impact of between $3.4 and $9.6 billion, cites various studies. About 3,900 of these jobs will be direct construction jobs in Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas. The project is expected to support 50 jobs during its operation. SEIS estimates that the construction of the KXL pipeline will contribute $3.4 billion (or 0.02 percent) to the United States’ Gross Domestic Product.

At the time the KXL was cancelled, TC Energy announced that about 1,000 workers “on both sides of the border” had been affected.
