(CNN)President Joe Biden will announce on Tuesday that the Department of Energy will release 50 million barrels of oil from Strategic oil reserves as part of an effort to bring down high gas prices and address oil supply shortages around the world.
The release will be coordinated with other major energy consumers, including China, India, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom, the White House announced in a fact sheet.
