The best silk PJs are equally chic and not casual, and make sleeping or even just lounging around feel so much more enjoyable. The right buttonless silk or satin nightgown can make your night of Netflix and takeout that much more special and a buttery silk gown could be just the thing for your evening – complete with a glass of wine and a dimly lit bubble bath – most needed.
Some silk pajamas are even polished so they can be worn outside when it’s safe to do so. To avoid looking like you’ve just stepped out in the clothes you fell asleep in, look for a matching set in a trendy color like black or mint green. Then think about half-lacing – a styling trick in which you fasten only one side of your shirt, leaving the other casual – for a dramatic look. To find out which silk pajamas are the best on the market, we asked experts, including Chillhouse’s Cyndi Ramirezas well as Fashionista market editor Dara Prant, for their favorites.
“I’m a pajamas person,” says Prant, so I prioritize comfort and ease of care, especially when it comes to silks. “I wouldn’t buy something that requires frequent visits to the dry cleaners. A good silk pajamas will get you to bed and beyond – be it to a bodega or a coffee shop – and it will last more than a season. ”
First, look for a combination of silk robes, gowns, and pajamas for women and men at every price point to seriously enhance the quality of your sleep.
“This Super mini dress and matching gown from The Great Eros is cut to feel like you’re wearing nothing, and the colors are perfect,” says Neada Deters, founder of hit skincare brand Lesse.
“Eberjey’s ultra-fine set has all the lovely properties of silk – it is hypoallergenic and insulating – but is machine washable,” says Prant. “I wear it over and over again all year round because it is so easy to use with my delicate dishes – it simplifies elegance.”
“Olivia Von Halle silk pajamas are like designer sleeping bags,” says Prant. “They come with hefty price tags, but they feel special, and you want to wear them. This is the most beautiful silk. ”
Ramirez agreed, calling Von Halle “the queen. She makes sleep like the most wonderful thing on earth. Right? “She’s certainly not wrong. This set can double for day wear.
Washable silk may sound like an oxymoron, but Lunya’s material is easy to care for as well as easy to wear – and it’s a favorite of longtime editors. Note: This short-sleeve sweater set also has a thermoregulatory effect.
Skims launched its own silk collection early last year, and to say influencers and editors alike love this button-up nightgown is an understatement. Prant also identifies herself as a fan: “There’s a lot to love about Skims’ close friends and line of sunglasses, especially the nightgowns and silk pants,” she says. “Offered in a number of cool neutrals – like clay and metallic – and an inclusive size range, these soft dividers boast a subtle sex appeal that makes for a statement. strong father inside or outside the house.”
“I love lounging and sleeping in a simple dress, like this one from Silk Laundry. I only recommend resizing for a less restrictive fit. ”
“I had to give it to them,” Ramirez said. “They are the epitome of what young Cyndi envisioned when adult Cyndi wore to bed. It’s what I wear to fun dinners and movie dates at home with my husband. ”
“I’ve owned this washed black georgette slide from Araks for a few years, but this shirt has a really nice color,” says Deters.
Digital consultant Alyssa Coscarelli says this Papinelle shirt is cut perfectly for her petite, 5-foot-1-inch frame.
“Morgan is extremely playful with his designs but also very laid back and cool,” says Ramirez. “She couldn’t help but design a pair of sunglasses that felt like they were cut from a different fabric than the rest.”
Asos Design Curve Mix & Match Satin Set
“For an affordable option, I love this matching set from Asos,” says Coscarelli.
Coscarelli accidentally purchased this silk pajamas, which received over 10,000 5-star reviews a few months ago – “and I don’t regret it”.
Ally Dayon, co-founder of gender-neutral sandals brand Brunch, knows comfort. “I look for quality and style, like I do with all my clothes – but for pajamas it has to be comfortable,” says Dayon, who prefers nightwear with a more classic feel.
One reviewer said he “would give it 10 stars if possible” for these lightweight, satin silk pajamas.
Coscarelli bought this pair for her partner, “who values comfort above most things,” she says.
Coscarelli said: Ditto for these things. “These provide a quick way for him to feel luxurious.”
“I like light pajamas,” says Dayon, who mentioned that Rubinacci was her pick. “They need to be airy and cool, like silk sheets.”
