Berlanga Talks about Adversity, Expectations on Fireworks

Rising super-middle star Edgar Berlanga is eager to hit a show when he faces Steve Rolls on Saturday night.

The Top Rated main event at Madison Square Garden Theater will be Berlanga’s first fight in 2022. He signed in 2021 with a point win over Marcelo Esteban Coceres. This was his second decisive win in a row after 16 wins in the distance. But the New Yorker seemed to want a return to destruction with a win claim over his Canadian opponent.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Berlanga said he was happy to have overcome the adversity against Coceres.

“In my last match, I tore my bicep in the third round. I broke his orbital bone in three places. I will stop the fight in 10order, but I was dropped to ninth. So for me, I just feel like I need that for my career. I need that adversity.

“Every boxer goes through that in their career, especially at a young age. I knew I would get out of that situation because I tore my bicep in the third round and fought seven rounds like that — a lot of fighters gave up because the pain was ridiculous. But I got it as it came. We won. I won the WBO NABO title, and we moved to Las Vegas, and now we’re ready for Saturday. ”

Rolls has suffered just one defeat in its 22-match career and that was against middleweight superstar Gennadiy Golovkin. Since the knockout loss in the fourth round of 2019, Rolls has won two out of two games. A win over Berlanga would be a huge boost to his career but the home favorite is ready to show off for his city.

“I’m ready to blow the roof off this place. I’m just ready to explode. It will be fireworks as always. “
