Before middleweight rivals David Benavidez and David Lemieux face off in Glendale, Arizona this evening, Showtime audiences will get to watch two underdog fights.
Middleweight 5-0 Yoelvis Gomez will face Jorge Cota 30-5 in a scheduled 10th round match. Gomez last fought on Christmas Eve 2021, when he blocked Clay Collard in the first round. Cota’s final game saw him stop by Sebastian Fondura in the fourth round last May.
16-0 featherweight opponent Luis Nunez will also be on the card, facing Jonathan Fierro 13-0 in the scheduled 10th half. Nunez was last spotted stopping Carlos Arrieta at ten in January. The last time Fierro beat Daniel Bailey was two in March.
The Benavidez-Lemieux Card will begin airing tonight at 10pm ET on Showtime.
