Earlier this month, PlatinumGames confirmed Hellena Taylor would not be returning as the vocalist of Bayonetta on the third outing Bayonetta 3 because of “different overlapping situationsIn an update, the voice actor has now responded to this – taking to social media to explain in her own words why she didn’t voice the character in the third game.
In short, she feels the offer of US$4,000 “to play the full game… as a flat rate” is an “insult” to her, and the amount of time she spends to work on her talent and all that she put in. for fans and series. She also noted how “the Bayonetta franchise has made about $450 million” excluding merchandise.
Taylor is now urging fans to “boycott this game” and instead donate the proceeds to charity.
“I’m just asking for a decent living wage, what they do is legal but it’s unethical.”
In the second part of her video message, Taylor explains how she “decided to do it to stand up in solidarity with people all over the world who are not being properly paid for their talent.” ” – added that it was unacceptable and also mentioned how she has suffered from mental health issues, including depression and anxiety that lead to dark thoughts much more. Taylor added some context in the third part of the message – mentioning that she auditioned and “passed through with flying colors”. She was then sent an offer and instead decided to contact Hideki Kamiya to ask him if her talent was “worth it”, and that’s when she was offered 4,000 by the company. USD. In a final comment in the same segment, Taylor wishes the new voice actor (Jennifer Hale) “all the joy in the world” and “every job”, but says she has “no right” to step into the limelight. spotlight as Bayonetta.
