Baseball Hall of Fame 2023: Vote, Watch, and Update


The 2023 Baseball Hall of Fame election is here. The Baseball Writers Association of America announced the results Tuesday night, and Scott Rolen will head to Cooperstown after appearing with 75% of the votes needed for the election.

Rolen appeared on 76.3% of the vote, Todd Helton was second with 72.2% while Billy Wagner (68.1%), Andruw Jones (58.1%) and Gary Sheffield (55) .0%) are the only other candidates to appear on more than 50% of the vote.

In December, Fred McGriff was selected as the newest member of the Hall of Fame — with Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling rejected again. McGriff was the unanimous choice of 16 members of the commission that had just established the contemporary era of baseball, which considered a ballot of eight candidates whose major contributions to the game took place after 1980. .
