The only obvious problem with today Honda Accord LX 1995 not with something broken. It was with something that was fixed. We’ll get to that in a moment, but first, let’s marvel at the seemingly excellent overall condition of this Honda cargo van.

The Accord first debuted in 1976 as a three-door hatchback bearing many similarities to its smaller brother, the Civic. The following year, a four-door saloon was added to the lineup, a pairing that Honda will do through the model of the second generation. Later redesigns added a two-door coupe to the mix, a body style that will remain in the Accord family through the 2016 model year.

Interestingly, only two generations of the Accord—the fourth and fifth generations—have had a scooter body style. This vehicle represents the later fifth generation vehicle and competes with similarly sized models from Toyota, Mazda and Subaru, among others.

Honda has always imbued its products with a bit more sportiness than those competitors, and the most notable feature of this Accord is the five-speed bar bolted to the 2.2-liter four-cylinder F22 engine. cylinders in line under the hood. That allows the car to make the most of the engine’s 130 horsepower, sending those ponies down the sidewalk through the front wheels.

The seller notes that this car has been serviced several times recently, most notably new timing belts. Other newcomers under the hood include the radiator, alternator, and SGK spark plugs. Those updates and some other work have resulted in a car that the seller claims runs “perfectly and smoothly”, boasting that it is “perfect at highway speeds”.

It also looks pretty nice. Most of the cars offered for sale in general looked riding hard and walked away wet. The only notable flaws on this Frost White over mocha wagon are some fading of the black window trim around the rear doors and the oddly dark turn signal lights next to the updated headlights. I guess you could also include Walmart wheel covers, but while not the most attractive option, they are at least clean and scratch-free.

Where the car really shines is in the cabin. It is clean and shows no signs of wear and tear. A later CD stereo is in the dash, but otherwise everything seems to be original. Well, everything but the instrument cluster, and that’s where things get sketchy on this car.

According to the ad, there are 102,000 miles on the clock. The only problem is that the meter located in the replacement instrument cluster shows the lower mileage of another vehicle when installed. The car itself had 157,000 miles on it at the time of replacement, so it’s a bit of a guess at how many miles the car has now. The seller notes that mileage difference will be on the title when transferring, so maybe we’re putting a mole here.

Despite the obnoxious odometer, the car appears to be uncomplicated. It is said to run well, the A/C works comfortably and comes with a clear title. The asking price is $7,500.

What do you think of this somewhat rare Honda and its price tag? Does that sound like a deal for a five-speed family car? Or, the difference just doesn’t add up?

You decide!
