ASBK will return to the famous high-speed Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 7-8 September for the fifth round of the championship, with two action-packed days as the country’s best racing talent take to the 4.448km GP track, which boasts one of the highest average top speeds of any track globally.

The 2024 Motul-sponsored Australian Superbike Championship will be a mix of high-speed circuits, undulating waves and tight corners, balancing the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of machines and riding styles – ensuring a thrilling race that can be won or lost on the final stretch at Gardner Straight.

Two-wheel action will be provided by the Australian Superbikes, Michelin Supersport, Race and Road Supersport 300 and Superbike Masters categories, while the always entertaining Aussie Racing Cars will add an exciting highlight for spectators.

Australia’s premier Superbike race is in a tight race with Josh Waters leading on the Ducati earlier but having his gap significantly narrowed by Mike Jones on the Yamaha recently.

The gap between the two is now just 17 points, but Waters will be encouraged by his return to a track where his rivals have rarely found a hole in his defence. He took three wins at Phillip Island to kick off the 2024 ASBK Championship in February, but has certainly been pushed hard by fellow Ducati riders Troy Herfoss and Harrison Voight.

Cru Halliday (Yamaha), Broc Pearson (Ducati) and Max Stauffer (Yamaha) are also in great form in Superbike, while Jonathan Nahlous (Yamaha) and Josh Newman (Kawasaki) lead the Supersport and Supersport 300 classes.

Meanwhile, the Superbike Masters paddock always has a carnival-like feel, where spectators can get up close to the iconic bikes – and even some famous riders – that lit up the track in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Spectators will enjoy free entry to the ASBK paddock at Phillip Island, while the event will also feature off-track activities to keep the family entertained, including pit walks, ‘Mini Moto Come and Try’ sessions for kids, the ASBK Trade Alley and the chance to meet their favourite ASBK riders and ambassadors at autograph sessions taking place throughout the week.
