New law take your car, $2,000 in street takeover
Street take over is becoming a dangerous nuisance IN cities across the country. And while some tried to do what they maybe roadside takeover operations, they usually do not work. But like CBS news Reportedly, a city in California is working to stop them to a whole new one level.
The city of Pico Rivera in Southern California passed a new ordinance that’This is perhaps the most difficult crackdown on street takeovers. Any fool caught making donuts or blocking any stretch of road will have their vehicle impounded for good. Drivers and those present will also be fined $2,000, each.
The city doesn’t stop there either. City Councilor Gustavo Camacho speak officials are awaiting word from California’s WILLTate Capitol above provide guidance for promulgate more regulations. “We were really waiting for Sacramento to issue more rules to give us more tools,” Camacho said. “They have slowed down the process so many cities are just taking their own approach,” he say.
Camacho said he hopes Pico Rivera’s ordinance will serve as a model for other cities that have not been successful in resisting these takeovers. For example, the nearby city of Compton tried to install Dots on the street in city interactions to prevent cars from running too high or too high. It’s really failure.
