Subaru to use Tesla’s NACS charging connector in North America for EVs launched from 2025 onwards

Subaru is the next car brand in North America to adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its electric vehicles (EVs), joining others like Honda, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.

As with those companies, Subaru will use the NACS port (previously known as the Tesla charging connector) on EVs sold in the region beginning 2025. For customers that currently own a Subaru EV with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port, the carmaker will provide an adapter for compatibility with NACS chargers.

This will also take place from 2025, and will provide such customers with access to over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America for even greater convenience. At present, Subaru only sells on EV in the region and that is the Solterra, which has a higher starting price than its Toyota twin – the bZ4X – at USD44,995 (RM213,951), or USD2,995 (RM14,241) more.
