President Biden released a statement about tonight’s vote in Kansas upholding abortion rights in the state’s constitution.
“This vote clarifies what we know: a majority of Americans agree that women should have access to abortion and should have the right to make their own health care decisions. Congress should listen to the will of the American people and restore protections Roe as federal law,” Biden said in the statement.
“The Supreme Court’s extreme decision to overturn Roe v. Wade put women’s health and lives at risk. Tonight, the American people have something to say about it,” it added.
Kansas voters voted “no” on a proposed constitutional amendment, according to a CNN forecast.
