Kudos to Geoff and all Keighleys! Dress, the fox-independent Zelda variety that you thought was probably out until I told you it wasn’t, finally has a release date! As announced in Game Award last night, we can expect it to arrive on March 16, 2022.
We’ve been hearing about Tunic for years now, and its comprehensiveness at showcases and announcements like The Game Awards has kept it on everyone’s radar all this time. Take a look at what will hopefully be one of the movie’s final trailers, until the day we post a launch trailer.
Tunic is a top-to-bottom adventure game where you play as a cute little fox in Link cosplay. We first posted about it on RPS back in 2015, it’s monstrous to think about, before it officially changed its name from Secret Legend to Tunic all four years ago. This little fox (still ranked third in the Internet’s cute animals poll though how well they eat eggs) will explore scary dungeons and fight monsters.
Despite the easy comparison to Zelda (so easy in fact I included it in the title), those with some time with Tunic have found it can be surprisingly difficult – although it is also not meant to be the same as a Soul. Our Imogen already has sit down with developer Andrew Shouldice to talk about it, where he said that “Ao Dai aims to evoke the feeling of older video games, where it’s like a big place to explore and there are places you’re not ready for.”
