Anthony Joshua and Canelo Alvarez in the top 50 highest paid athletes


Two boxers finished on Forbes list of the 50 highest-paid athletes in the past year.

Canelo Alvarez 5th placewith earnings of $110 million ($100 million in the ring, $10 out of the ring) from May 1, 2022 through the same date this year, as previously reported by Boxing Junkie.

Following him is Anthony Joshua in 28th place, with $53 million ($50 million and $3 million).

This list is dominated by basketball players (15), golfers (12), soccer players (10) and soccer players (6). Formula 1 tennis and boxing are tied to two representatives.

Alvarez fought twice within the specified time period. He lost a decision to Dmitry Bivol on May 7 of last year and overcame rival Gennadiy Golovkin in their third fight on September 17 of last year. Both matches took place in Las Vegas.

He defeated John Ryder by a unanimous decision on May 6 in a homecoming match in Mexico.

Joshua has also fought twice. The former British heavyweight champion lost decisively in his second bout to Oleksandr Usyk last August and decided Jermaine Franklin last month.
