Even IPCC ignores alarming sea level forecasts

Concerning sea level rise, Potsdam climate researcher Stefan Rahmstorf and other alarmists have warned global sea levels could rise by as much as “one meter and ninety” before the end of this century. However, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has a different view. For example, in the 2013 5th Climate Report, it forecast a sea level rise of only 53 cm for a scenario in which CO2 emissions peak around 2040.

Brake on sea level rise as some areas of Antarctica are expected to be colder!

The 2013 IPCC forecast has now been supported by René van Westen and Henk Dijkstra from the University of Utrecht. Their published results of computer simulations of sea level in the journal “Science Advances” show that the ocean around Antarctica is unlikely to warm, and areas are expected to be even colder by the end of the year. end of this century.

Thus, according to the new calculations, the ice melt caused on the Antarctic coast is only a third of what previous lower-resolution simulations suggested.

Antarctic ice mass reduces sea level rise by 25%

The new model also assumes that more snow will fall in Antarctica, and that Antarctic ice volume is even expected to remain unchanged and stable this century. In this respect, Antarctica is likely to contribute nothing to global sea level rise by 2100. This reduces the projected 25% sea level rise this century.

While the old model assumed a sea level rise of about 42 cm, it is now only 33 cm, which is less than 9 cm. A far cry from the dramatic scenarios of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.

TORNADO

No data to support a link between warming and tornadoes

In terms of tornado activity, December 2021 sees a series of intense tornadoes in the southeastern United States. More than 85 people died. As expected, the usual suspects pointed to man-made climate change, World climate news reported in video.

However, Andreas Friedrich of the German Weather Service, DWD, reminded in mid-December 2021 that there is currently no evidence that a series of tornadoes are linked to climate change. This is supported by Chris Martz, who has been charting tornado statistics for the United States using data from the National Center for Environmental Information (NCEI) over the past 65 years.

Result? There is no obvious trend.

How will tornadoes develop in the future? According to Matthew Woods of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, tornadoes could become rarer but more intense. The bottom line is that the future remains uncertain.
