An airport toilet tops the shortlist for America’s Best Toilet
A common practice while traveling is finding a clean public restroom in an airport, bar or restaurant, museum, theme park, or highway rest area.
There is no need to discuss how bad public scammers can be. Also don’t name them.
Instead, let’s celebrate some of the public toilets that are not only super clean, but also have some unusual charm, convenience, or decor.

Every year, the Cintas-sponsored Best Toilet in America contest helps us do just that by inviting the public to nominate their favorite public restroom and then vote which of the 10 creative, quirky and hygienic public toilets will be crowned.
Last yearin a surprise show, toilets in two airports – Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Tampa . International Airport (TPA) is running. And TPA was honored for its first series of renovated restrooms featuring large Florida-themed graphics and the airport’s “cockpit” concept that puts tissue dispensers and trash cans within reach of each sink and soap dispenser is activated by sensor.
This year, there is an airport toilet project that was also shortlisted as a finalist.
Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI) nominations are located right above the restrooms of Concourse B that opened this past spring as part of a larger $55 million program that will eventually expand and improve the rooms. Sanitize on concourses B, C and D.
Bright and spacious, with windows that provide both natural light and privacy, the bathrooms have many useful features such as touchless fixtures, maximum height compartments and doors, plus bag-storage space with wheels and a red/green user signal for the stalls. Since entering the competition, BWI has also showcased newly improved and expanded restrooms in Concourse D, and will unveil another new restroom in Concourse C next week. And the rest of the toilet upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The restrooms at Huntsville, Utah’s Snowbasin Resort, one of the oldest continuously operating ski resorts in the country, feature Italian Carrara marble, brass and crystal chandeliers, and private stalls. , hand painted walls and luxurious hand towels.
Framed rabbit portraits cover the walls at Rabbit Hole restaurant in Greenville, South Carolina. A rose garden seemed to grow from the ceiling. And excerpts from the audiobook “Alice in Wonderland” can be heard through speakers.
And on the New York City Frying Pan, built in 1929 and now having a place on the National Register of Historic Places, there’s – you guessed it – a maritime-themed restroom. This one features riveted sheet metal, shiny wood, lights above each stall and sink, and hand-painted paintings of the historic ship.
