8 rounds — Middleweight

SIM ANTHONY JR.

Record — 22-1, 20 KO
Height — 6’1″
Weight — 158.4
Age — 27
Originally from — Plainfield, IN
Fighting Out — Los Angeles, CA

* Nickname “The Magician”

* Current Rating #26 in the world
as a World Boxing Council (WBC) super-middleweight

* Sims was born in Plainfield, Indiana and raised around the Indianapolis area. His father died when he was just 6 years old, and that, according to him, left him in a period of prolonged psychological stress. He struggled in peer groups, and some of the abuse he suffered as a child led him to the boxing gym.

* Sims is the cousin of Floyd Mayweather Jr. And at one point, he trained under the supervision of Roger Mayweather and also Floyd Mayweather Sr.

* Sims claim amateur record 188-13. He reached the semifinals of the 2012 US Championship and lost to Marcus Browne. He also won a medal at the Olympic Trials.

* Participated in the 2012 World Youth Championship and was disqualified for entering the opponent’s body.

* Actually didn’t sign the Mayweathers as a pro because he considers it a “weak” deal.

* Made his professional debut in April 2014 with a four-round decider against James Lee Guy.

* He had only one other decisive win, which was over ten innings at the Forum in Los Angeles against Vaughn Alexander (April 26, 19).

* Sims has scored 9 first round KOs in his first 12 games, including a streak of 8 in a row.

*His only loss came on January 30, 2020, ten-half split decision against Roamer Alexis Angulo in Miami. Sims move around a lot, but don’t generate enough offense.

* Eight months after losing to Angulo, Sims traveled to Dubai and defeated Hernan David Perez (August 13, 21) for the WBA super middleweight (168-pound) title.

* Sims found Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn through former welterweight champion Kell Brook. He signed an agreement with Hearn, but in the end, that deal ended. Previously, Sims had also been in the Don King’s advertising cage.

* In his final match, he scored a third round TKO against Manny Woods. It was December 18 of last year, so that means he’s been idle for over a year.

* Sims are extremely strong and move very smoothly on their feet. His best punch is probably a left hook.

* Has done a lot of work with youth and wants to use boxing success as a platform to work with more young people.

ANTONIO TODD

Record — 14-6, 8 KO
Height — 6’0″
Weight — 159.2
Age — 28

* Win your first 5 games as a pro.

* All of his first nine professional games were in the Atlanta area.

* Played against someone named “Arsenio Hall,” presumably for fun, in South Carolina in December 2020, winning four decisive rounds.

* Back in May, he fought the undefeated Connor Coyle for the NABA middleweight belt. Todd was able to keep Coyle in early, but not busy enough. However, he came on in the second half of the match. In the end, he lost in a ten-game decision that was the subject of some dispute.

* Todd’s best professional win came on January 22, decided by a ten-round majority against Hugo Centeno Jr., who entered with a 28-3-1 record.

* The final match was a TKO in the sixth round of Larry Smith (13-51-2). That happened on December 2nd.

* Paws a bit with jab. But he is calm, cool and patient. And he has some tricks in his pocket (shoulder rolls, etc.). He is difficult for anyone “green”.
