Aliens will first contact our AI, expert says

According to Avi Loeb, a renowned Harvard University scientist, the first contact with extraterrestrials (ET) is more likely to have occurred through artificial intelligence than direct human interaction. Loeb suggests that aliens may choose to send drones or unmanned vehicles to Earth instead of crewed spacecraft, since interstellar travel is a time-consuming process. and took tens of thousands of years, if not longer, the Daily Star reported.

However, artificial intelligence (AI) is lifeless and can be inactive for the time it takes to endure the long journey. In the event of an Alien visit, our AI systems can be used to decode and communicate with their AI counterparts. Loeb speculates that there may be an empathetic relationship between aliens and AI, potentially leading to a preference for these electronic devices over biological creatures like us.

Loeb estimates that there could be an astonishing number of UFOs, some four million billion, navigating solar system. However, he believes that instead of visiting in person, aliens are more inclined to send AI technology.

Seth Shostak, lead astronomer at the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Institute, shares a similar view. He predicts that exposure to extraterrestrial intelligence will occur by 2035, citing this possibility due to advances in sky-scanning technology.
