Young weight class candidate Alberto Puello was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Tuesday after failing an out-of-competition drug test in April.
Puello tested positive for Clomiphene, a banned hormone and metabolism regulator.
The 28-year-old Dominican was suspended for six months but was not penalized because the test was conducted outside of the competition. The suspension ends on October 5.
Puello (21-0, 10 KOs) was due to take on Rolando Romero last month but he got his card removed after failing a drug test.
He also lost his WBA title. He’s designed to be the “breaktime champion.”
