AIIMS Delhi to fully implement India’s e-hospital HMIS platform

All Indian Institutes of Medical Sciences in New Delhi are set up to adopt the hospital management information system developed by the government.

Starting next year, the predecessor AIIMS institute will implement all the modules of the HMIS electronic hospital, developed by the National Center for Informatics, the IT system agency under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. believe.

The rollout is part of the transition to paperless hospitals, according to a news report.

The announcement comes after a team from the NIC demonstrated the electronic hospital modules at the hospital last week. Currently, there are 10 modules in this cloud-based platform: patient registration, admission, discharge and transfer, billing, clinic, LIS, RIS, pharmacy, OT management, regimen eating and laundry.

A supervisory oversight committee and a working committee will also be established to do this, the bulletin also noted.

WHY IT IMPORTANT

The e-hospital platform is an HMIS hosted on NIC’s national cloud system, MeghRaj. It enables the digitization of internal hospital processes and procedures and serves as a one-stop solution connecting patients, hospitals and doctors in a single digital platform. It was developed to ultimately improve the delivery of healthcare services across India.

As of year-end, about 1,093 hospitals across India have joined the e-hospital platform, including AIIMS Raipur.

TREND TO BIGGER

Government of Delhi is working on setting up HIMS across the country to connect all its public hospitals under one digital platform. The system is being developed by NEC Corporation India, which is expected to be launched sometime this year.
