Welcome to my Cheltenham Festival 2022 tracker where I will keep a log of all my pre-card bets. We are now into November and after an exciting November meeting at Cheltenham and the incredible Betfair Chase, we move on to Ladbrokes Trophy and Fighting Fifth Hurdle weekend.
I will have a pick for all my followers weekly and will only pick one horse per race. All my horses will be found at the end of my weekly posts. So let’s move on to my second pick, which could turn out to be a great innovation of The Stayers’ Hurdle.
The one who stayed at ‘Hurdle
Beautiful gray Buzz Should be favorites for The Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival 2022 in my opinion after his stellar performance in Ascot Hurdle where he managed to do so against his rivals.
Nicky Henderson’s rising and steady star is all class when it comes to being a Cesarewitch winner on the flat but also class when it comes to overcoming a hurdle. He jumps very well and fast in the air, saving energy in every flight.
A very strong traveller, he should be a great fit for this race because of all I think he would put in the Championship Race as well. However, it’s probably wise that they don’t try to get Honeysuckle out of necessity. It would be a tall order to give her weight.
The biggest concern for Buzz’s supporters is whether he will stay 3m – after all, he can’t get past 2m4f at the moment. But given the way he dances and travels and his ability to stay on the Apartment, one would have to think that he would just love it. I think he’s going to win The Stayers’ on the reins.
